The completed tourism investments of Bilgili Holding include the W Istanbul Hotel in Akaretler, the Radisson BLU Conference & Airport Hotel Istanbul, and the Republika Academic Aparts project, which is the first new generation living space for university students. Requirement
Scaling of the on-premise virtual servers according to the new requests used to take a long time and incur high costs. There was a need for a competitive infrastructure solution involving flexible structure scalability and low initial investment cost. Furthermore, the solution had to enable monitoring of the servers and provide easy to manage backup solutions with unique reporting capabilities. The requirements also included low cost and efficient security solutions and increase security in all work loads
Solution
With the Azure Migration project realized by the KoçSistem Microsoft Platforms team, 10 virtual servers with Windows Server operating system were analyzed with the Azure Migrate Assessment tool and their dependencies were determined. Using Rehost management via Azure Migrate, server systems hosting services and applications such as SQL and CRM have been seamlessly migrated to the Azure environment.
The connectivity between OnPrem data center and Azure has been established securely with the Azure S2S VPN connections. The Azure NSG rules and DDOS protection have offered high network security with a low cost.
Azure Monitoring and Azure Policy products are used to log and report the operations on the Azure environment and control their compliance with the standards.
Benefit and Result
- With seamless transition, 10 Windows Servers were rehosted and migrated to Azure.
- The hybrid data center has become operational with the secure communication between the Azure infrastructure and the OnPrem data center.
